REAL Turmat breakfasts for camping, hiking and expeditions

A good breakfast makes an early start easier. REAL Turmat muesli and granola are lightweight, freeze-dried outdoor breakfasts from Norwegian producer Drytech. They are easy to pack and designed for straightforward preparation at a campsite, on a hiking trip or during an expedition.

At Wilderness 1-2-1, you can choose from standard REAL Turmat breakfast pouches and larger REAL Field Meal breakfasts for days when you want a more substantial portion. Both ranges offer familiar breakfast flavours without the need to carry separate cereal ingredients.

Choose your REAL Turmat breakfast

Standard breakfast pouches

These options provide approximately 424–493 kcal per pouch, depending on the recipe:

REAL Turmat Chocolate Muesli – oats, wholegrains, strawberries and chocolate; approximately 439 kcal per pouch.
REAL Turmat Blueberry & Vanilla Muesli – a fruitier choice with blueberry and vanilla flavours; approximately 424 kcal per pouch.
REAL Turmat Crunchy Granola – a granola-based breakfast; approximately 493 kcal per pouch.

Higher-energy REAL Field Meal breakfasts

For longer days or bigger appetites, the Field Meal breakfast pouches provide approximately 700 kcal each:

REAL Turmat Field Meal Chocolate Muesli – a larger chocolate muesli breakfast.
REAL Turmat Field Meal Crunchy Granola with Chocolate – a higher-energy granola and chocolate breakfast.

How do you prepare REAL Turmat breakfast?

These breakfasts are designed to be prepared in the pouch. Open the pouch, add the product-specific quantity of water, stir and allow the contents to hydrate for the time stated on the packaging. Some recipes can be prepared with hot or cold water, making them useful when cooking facilities are limited. Always follow the instructions on the individual pouch rather than using one water quantity or standing time for the entire range.

Compare calories, ingredients and dietary requirements

Choose by energy per pouch, portion size, protein, flavour and the water needed for preparation. Dietary suitability differs between recipes: do not assume that every muesli or granola is gluten free, lactose free or milk free. A lactose-free product can still contain milk protein, which is important for anyone with a milk allergy.

For dietary requirements, consult the full ingredients and allergen declaration on each product page and the current packaging before consumption. Recipes and specifications can change.

REAL Turmat breakfast FAQs

What is the difference between standard REAL Turmat and REAL Field Meal breakfasts?

The standard breakfast pouches in this range provide roughly 424–493 kcal each. The larger Field Meal breakfast options provide approximately 700 kcal per pouch, making them a useful choice when you want more energy from a single breakfast.

Can REAL Turmat breakfasts be prepared without a stove?

Some recipes can be prepared with cold water as well as hot water. Cold-water preparation may require a different standing time. Check the instructions on the pouch for the product you choose.

Are REAL Turmat breakfasts gluten free or lactose free?

Dietary suitability varies by recipe. Check each product's ingredients and allergen information, or browse our gluten-free camping food and lactose-free camping food categories. Lactose free does not necessarily mean milk free.
